He began playing cricket at the age of three and now represents Max Muller High School and the Rajajinagar Cricketers. Nitish had remarkable talent in the Under-16 KSCA Cup, scoring 565 runs, including three hundred and fifty-score runs. He is also quite good in under-14 competitions.
