Jada Thorpe is a young college basketball star who was born on July 27, 2000 in Chicago, Illinois. She was born to parents, Patricia Thorpe and the late Lewis Thorpe. She has four siblings named Brandon, Stephen, Jalen, and Ke’one. She mainly plays as a point guard.

Education

During her childhood, Jada attended North Lawndale High School in Chicago, and later spent her junior year at Montverde Academy. She later attended the Simeon Career Academy during her senior year. After graduating high school, she attended Kansas State University for a year before transferring to Western Illinois University. She graduated in 2023 with a B.S. in Kinesiology. She then moved to Delaware University, where she recently completed her Master’s degree in Education.

During her time in high school, Jada Thorpe was named to the Prospects Nation Watch List for Class of 2019. She gained prominence after she her recognition as a 2016-17 Chicago Tribune Players to Watch. She was also a two-time member of the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) Class 3A/4A Special Mention All-State Team.

After graduating high school, Jada Thorpe attended Kansas State University and played for the Kansas State Wildcats from 2020-21. She was a part of the Academic All-Big 12 first team, playing five games for the Wildcats. However, she missed most of her freshman year (2019-20) due to injury.

The following year, he moved to Western Illinois University, where he played for the Western Illinois Leathernecks from 2021-2023. During her sophomore year, she made 29 appearances, playing an average of 29.4 minutes per game. She averaged 11.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists, ranking second in the Summit League for steals.

Meanwhile, in her junior year, she played 29 games, making 13 starts and playing 21.5 minutes per contest. She averaged 10.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game and ranked second on the team with 41. Jada finished the season with 14 games in double-figures for scoring. She is currently playing for the Delaware Blue Hens since the 2023 season.
