On the mountain biking front, Tom Pidcock will defend his men’s cross country title, facing rivals Mathias Flückiger of Switzerland (silver medalist) and David Valero of Spain (bronze medalist). Defending women’s cross country champion Jolanda Neff has withdrawn from Switzerland’s selection due to breathing problems but will be replaced by last year’s silver medalist, Sina Frei.
