A student at Bucknell University named Christian Samay passed away but a cause of death hasn;t been revealed yet

In a statement, the university announced that Samay belonged to the class of 2024.

Christian Samay was discovered dead on Saturday, barely one day after it was discovered that the university’s active shooter report was a “hoax.”

Bucknell University President John Bravman announced the passing of Christian Samay by stating, “It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the death of a Bucknell student on campus today. Together we mourn the passing of Christian Samay.”

The Bucknell community is devastated by this tragedy and their thoughts are with Christian’s family and friends.

Bravman clarified that Samay’s death is not connected to the false report of an active shooter on campus the previous night. He emphasized that there is no suspicion surrounding the circumstances of Samay’s passing however a cause of death hasn’t been given yet.

Christian Samay was a political science major from Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, and treasurer of the Phi Gamma Delta chapter at Bucknell University.

The University made a point of highlighting that counsellors were on hand to assist students who needed assistance during this trying period.

A lockdown was imposed on Bucknell University on Friday, March 29, in response to allegations of an active shooter on campus.

The active shooter alert was later shown to be a hoax, though.

Following an inquiry into the fake report, which came from Virginia, the campus was declared safe. There was no real threat, and everything was settled amicably.
