Brueckner has been the leading suspect since he was named by German police two years ago, with officials shockingly stating that they suspected he was responsible for the three-year-old’s death.

Prosecutors in Portugal have identified the 44-year-old as an “arguido,” or “official suspect,” according to the German newspaper Bild. This is generally followed by formal charges. The Portimao department of the Faro Department of Criminal Investigation and Prosecution (DIAP) declared in a written statement:

What Is Madeleine Mccann’s Case?

Madeleine Beth McCann, a British girl, is the centre of Madeleine McCann’s case. Her birthday is May 12th, 2003. On the 3rd of May 2007, she vanished from her room at a holiday apartment in a resort in Praia da Luz, Portugal’s Algarve area when she was aged just three years old.

Madeleine was a little girl who was on holiday with her parents, siblings, and family friends. When her parents went out to eat at a restaurant not far from the hotel, she was left in the ground floor apartment at 8:30 p.m., lying in bed with her twin brothers. She was gone when her parents returned at about 10 p.m.

Madeleine was on holiday from the United Kingdom with her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann; her two-year-old twin siblings; and a group of family friends at the time of her disappearance.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the small girl’s disappearance has been dubbed “the most heavily reported missing-person case in modern history.”

Madeleine’s whereabouts are still unknown, and German prosecutors suspect she is already murdered. However, there is still a chance she is alive, and if so, she would be roughly 17 years old.
