Who is Fu Ming?
Fu Ming is a Chinese football referee who was born on January 5, 1983, in Huai’an, China. Since 2014, he has served as a full international referee for FIFA.
At Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, he teaches at Jincheng College. It was revealed on February 23, 2019, that CFA has recruited Fu Ming to join their ranks of professional Chinese referees.
Fu was employed from 2005 to 2016 as a sports instructor at a school in Nanjing, near Shanghai. In addition to his prior attendance at the AFC Asian Cup, the 41-year-old has officiated Asian qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup.
He was in the spotlight for referring Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr against Shabab Al-Ahli Club at the AFC Champions League qualifiers. During an intense match, the Portuguese veteran was seen on camera yelling at Fu Ming of China as he made his way into the tunnel after the halftime whistle.
In the 27th minute, Ronaldo claimed he had been fouled by a Shabab defender nearby, but the referee refused him a penalty, which only made the veteran more enraged. After Ronaldo skillfully dribbled through two defenders to be hauled down in the penalty box, the Chinese referee also denied the striker a third penalty in the first half.
