Baker was born in Elmira, New York, and raised in Needhan, Massachusetts. His father was a government official who worked for both Presidents Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon in different roles. Charlie Baker went to Needham High School and then Harvard University, where he got his degree. After that, he worked as the director of corporate communications for Massachusetts High Technology Council. He then went on to get an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
