In 2013, Connor Williams succeeded him as the chairman of the All India Junior Selection Committee. Later, Pandit enjoyed successful coaching stints with the Mumbai cricket squad as he guided his home team to three Ranji Trophy wins. Later, he led the cricket team from Vidarbha to two straight Ranji Trophy victories in 2018 and 2019. He was a former Indian cricketer who competed in 36 ODIs and 5 Test matches between 1986 and 1992. He played batsman for the Indian national cricket team as the wicket keeper. On June 19, 1986, at Headingley, Leeds, he played in his first test match against England, the same match in which England wicket-keeper Bruce French made his test debut. The final score of series was 2-0 in favor of India.
In his 5 test matches, Pandit scored 171 runs at an average of 24.42 while in his 36 ODI matches, he scored 290 runs at an average of 20.71. His highest score in test match was 39 while his highest in a ODI match was 33 unbeaten.
