Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Dan Ashworth, the director of Newcastle, traveled to Italy just before Christmas to see Dia and other players play against AC Milan. Additionally, Salernitana analyst Carmine Raiola of Italy told Radio Bruno through Labaro Viola that Newcastle and Eintracht Frankfurt have both expressed a strong interest in the player, stoking transfer speculation.

Boulaye Dia’s rise in the professional ranks began with Stade de Reims following an impressive time at Jura Sud Foot, where his 15 goals in 21 games garnered attention. In October 2018, Dia made his Ligue 1 debut against Angers. This led to a successful run that culminated in a historic moment on October 25, 2020, when Dia scored a hat-trick.
After signing a five-year contract to play with Villarreal in July 2021, Dia made a splash on his 2021 UEFA Super Cup debut against Chelsea. A new chapter in his career was started in August 2022 when he was loaned to U.S. Salernitana in Serie A, which had a purchase clause.
