He was born on 3 July 1975 in Bilgaon Chaudhari village, Morena, Madhya Pradesh. His father is Ramveer Sharma, a retired government employee. However, not much is known about his mother. He also has one brother and a sister.
After completing his schooling in Morena, Manoj Sharma graduated from the Maharani Laxmi Bai Government College of Excellence, Gwalior. Later, he also did his post-graduation in history from there. Subsequently, he also did a PhD in journalism in New Delhi.
He is married, and his wife is Shraddha Joshi Sharma, an IRS officer. The couple has two children: a son named Manas and a daughter named Chia.
He is currently 48 years old.
His career
Manoj Sharma faced several difficulties. But despite all of these obstacles, he made a crucial decision to change his career path when he was hired by a Delhi library—an unexpectedly life-changing move.
Sharma had to overcome three failed attempts to pass the UPSC test before he could finally achieve success. But persistence and willpower paid off in his fourth attempt at success. He began his committed career in 2005 when he was appointed as an IPS officer in the Maharashtra cadre.
Presently, he serves as the Additional Commissioner of the West Region in Mumbai. Sharma’s journey to becoming an IPS officer was marked by resilience ad despite facing setbacks and failing the UPSC examination three times, he persisted. In his fourth attempt, he secured the 121st rank, a testament to his commitment and perseverance.
