Opposition parties in the Municipal Corporation House in Chandigarh accused Anil Masih, who was the presiding officer, of tampering with the votes.
Anil Masih bio
Anil Masih is a member of the BJP Chandigarh unit who is currently embroiled in a ballot tampering scandal. During his childhood, Masih attended a government school in Sector 11 before moving on to study at the DAV College in Sector 10, where he finished his graduation.

A BJP member since 2015, he has been a regular at all party events, representing the minority wing. Seeing his dedication, the party nominated him as a councillor in the Chandigarh MC House in October 2022. Earlier in 2021, he had also been appointed the general secretary of the BJP’s minority morcha.

Anil Masih BJP career
Anil started his time with the BJP back in 2015, and he has been a regular member of the party and attends almost all the party events, representing the minority wing. In recognition of his dedication, the party nominated him as a councillor in the Chandigarh MC House in October 2022. Prior to that, in 2021, the BJP also appointed him as the general secretary of the BJP’s minority morcha.

According to reports, Anil Masih is currently 53 years old as of 2024.
Wife and kids
Although there are no exact details about his wife and kids, Anil is married, and his wife reportedly works as the manager at one of the girls’ hostels at Punjab Engineering Hostel (PEC), Sector 12. Moreover, the family currently resides in the hostel barracks on the PEC campus.
Profession
Anil Masih earlier worked at various private firms in the Tri-City. However, he has remained unemployed without an active job for the past several years. According to the 53-year-old, he is completely “dedicated to politics.”.
Past controversies
This is not the first time that Anil Masih has been embroiled in controversy. Back in 2018, the Church of North India (CNI) barred Abil from participating in all church activities. The decision came after he allegedly used abusive language during a committee meeting, besides speaking against the faith. However, the Bishop of CNI, Denzel Peoples, later reinstated him just two years later.
