The Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles hosted the 66th iteration of the Grammy Awards. The winners of the Best Global Music Performance award were drummer Zakir Hussain and flautist Rakesh Chaurasia. The winning song, Pashto, features American musicians Edgar Meyer and Bela Fleck.
Among the nominees for the category were Shadow Forces by Arooj Aftab and Vijay Iyer and Falu’s Abundance in Millets, which featured Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Three nominations were received for Rakesh Chaurasia’s collaboration album As We Speak: Best Contemporary Instrumental Album, Best Instrumental Composition, and Best Global Music Performance. Additionally, it took up a prize in the Best Contemporary Instrumental Album division.
