Bilquis Mir who was raised in Srinagar’s Khanyar neighbourhood, started her schooling at SA Modern School Babar Shah. She graduated from Women’s College in Srinagar on Maulana Azad Road.
When sports in Kashmir were just being started, Mir’s love for water sports was awakened at a young age. She proudly represented Jammu & Kashmir from 1998 to 2006, winning more than 25 medals at the national level. Details about Mir’s family are not known.
