Bilal Ahmad: who is he?
Ahmad, a native of Budgam, began participating in Taekwondo during his school years. The boy overcame all obstacles with the aid of resolve to compete at the national level. Due to the fact that he came from a middle-class household, his coach had a significant impact on his career. Three brothers make up Ahmad’s family, whose father works for the government.
It is important to note that the sport could only be practised in Jammu and Kashmir’s cities because the countryside and remote areas lack the necessary sports facilities for an athlete to have a successful career. “In class 5, I started attending a school in Budgam. I received martial arts instruction from a coach there named Syed Shuja, and I’ve continued to practise them ever since. After receiving guidance from him for a year, I continued to practise at home for three years,” Ahmad remarked.
He continued by saying that coach Syed Shuja’s direction had enabled him to compete at the district, state, and national levels.
More about his career
In 2012, Ahmad participated in his first district-level tournament and was shortly chosen for the state competition. He was then chosen at the national level after finishing in theย first place. In order to shed some light on his career, he admitted that his first national-level competition took place in Punjab, and he failed to bring home any medals.
“In Punjab, I competed in my first national-level competition, but I came away empty-handed. But in Delhi in 2014, I took second place in my national-level competition,” Ahmed stated. Bilal will now represent India at a global competition in Bangkok after winning the gold medal at the nationals.
