Who’s Bhupendra Patel?
Bhupendra Patel whose full name is Bhupendrabhai Rajnikantbhai Patel was born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on July 15, 1962. Patel is the first Chief Minister who hails from Kadva Patel Community and is a Hindu be religion. He is the first one to become the chief minister as a first time MLA.
He took the oath as the 17th Chief Minister of Gujarat on September 12, 2021, succeeding Vijay Rupani.
Patel started his career in politics with Municipal bodies of Ahmedabad before actually being elected as the member of Legislative Assembly.
He has represented the Ghatlodia constituency in Lok Sabha since 2017. At the time, he won the elections against a Congress opponent Shashikant Patel.
In 2017s election, Patel defeated his opponent by a margin of 1,17,000 votes.
As per reports, the current CM of Gujarat had completed a diploma in Civil engineering in 1982 from a government polytechnic institute in Ahmedabad.
The 60-year-old politician has always been in association with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, which is also known as RSS.
Apart from being a politician, he is also serving as a trustee of Sardardham Vishwa Patidar Kendra as well as the Chairman of a committee named Vishwa Umiya Foundation.
He is also known as the founder of a real-estate business titled Viban Associates. According to reports, Patel is quite interested in Cricket and badminton.
Back in February, this year, the present CM of Gujarat was in headlines after he launched a new IT/ITes Policy for the state which will be in effect from 2022 to 2027.
