For the unversed, Bahun Nongrum became the Miss Meghalaya 2024 at the Miss Meghalaya and Miss Teen Meghalaya 2024 pageant that was held yesterday evening at the packed Lariti Multipurpose Hall, Mawkasiang.
Chaivalry Lartang and Lily Kharthangmaw were named the first and second runners-up, respectively.

Whatโs Next for Bahun Nongrum?
Now as a Miss Meghalaya 2024, Bahun Nongrum will represent Meghalaya at Miss Universe India 2024, while Chaivalry and Lily will represent Meghalaya at Miss North East 2024 in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.
Meanwhile, in the Miss Teen category, Fortunate Mika Dkhar, emerged as the Miss Teen Meghalaya 2024, while Palei Chyne was named as the first runner-up follows by Nikita Nongrum who was named the second runners-up of the event.
While Bahun Nongrum is set to represent Meghalaya at the Miss Universe India 2024, Fortunate Mika Dkhar is preparing for represent the state at Miss Teen Diva, that is scheduled to be held in Jaipur, Rajsthan.
Judges
The judging panel of Miss Meghalaya 2024 includes some famous names like Amjad Khan, who is widely recognized director of operations and marketing for Miss Universe India, Arshina Sumbul, Miss grand international India 2023.
In addition, Divija Gambhir, widely known as the State Director for Miss Universe Rajasthan and Miss India Multinational 2021, and Mele Pucho, the State Director for Miss Universe Nagaland.

Prize Money
For the curious, the winners of the Miss Meghalaya 2024 received a sum of Rs. 1 lakh as a prize money. Meanwhile the first runner-up secured Rs. 50,000 and the second runner-up grabbed Rs. 25,000.
On the other hand, the winners of Miss Teen Meghalaya 2024 received a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 while the first runner-up received Rs. 15,000 and the second runner-up secured Rs. 10,000.

About Bahun Nongrum
For the curious, as per her official Instagram profile, Nongrum, came to the light after she won Mannat Miss India in 2022. Later, she participated in Miss Narwan Orange Festival, 2024 and emerged victorious.
Later, in 2024, Bahun Nongrum, participated in Miss Meghalaya and won the competition and now she became the Miss Universe Meghalaya.
As per media reports, the Miss Meghalaya 2024 competition was supported by the Meghalaya Tourism and the Department of Arts and Culture, Government of Meghalaya.
