The 28-year-old shooter from Nashville, Tennessee, was born Audrey Elizabeth Hale on March 24, 1995 to her mother Norma Hale.

Hale is a former student of the church-based school she attacked and the shooter later studied at the Nossi College of Art in Madison, Tennessee. Hale graduated in 2022, and was a “talented artist and a good student,” School president Cyrus Vatandoost told ABC News.

Audrey Hale: who was she?

Audrey Hale lived in Nashville. When five cops approached her, she had two assault-style firearms and a handgun with her. According to John Drake, chief of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, investigators were looking through the shooter’s house.

Police were able to find her thanks to a car near the shooting scene. Drake remarked, “There was a car nearby that gave us hints as to who she was.” On campus, doors are often closed, but Hale managed to enter through a side door. The investigation, according to Drake, is still ongoing.

Uncertainty surrounds Hale’s attendance at the Covenant School during the year or years. According to the police, she worked as a commercial illustrator and graphic designer on her internet resume. At 10:13 AM, police received the first call reporting an active shooter. After hearing gunfire coming from the second level, the arriving officers started immediately emptying the first storey of the school.

Police shot Hale at 10:27 AM, according to officials. According to the police, the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital and Vanderbilt University Medical Center later confirmed the victims deceased. Their identities and ages weren’t right away made public.

Users of social media speculate her motive

After the mayhem, social media users speculated about Hale’s motivation. Police later learned that Hale had created a comprehensive map of the school, indicating that the shooting was preplanned. Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, William Kinney, all students, and adults Cynthia Peak, Katherine Koonce, and Mike Hill were named as the victims.

Several people on social media are speculating about Hale’s motivation even though there is no official announcement about it. “As Audrey Hale attended the school and was a trans man, unfortunately, the motivation is everything,” a Twitter user wrote.

Several Twitter users noted that the suspect, a 28-year-old biological female who lists his or her gender as “He/Him” on LinkedIn, is a transgender as soon as the suspect was discovered.
