Who is Ashley Flugel?

According to The Idaho Statesman, Flugel was Kohberger’s high school friend, and the two used to take heroin together. Yet she was charged with many drug offences in 2017 and 2018, which required her to appear in court.

But, the 23-year-old was discovered dead inside a house in the 1200 block of Lyndsey Lane in Effort, Chestnuthill Township, in May 2018, before she could appear in court. She allegedly overdosed on drugs accidentally, which caused her death. Bryan is adamant that he did nothing wrong.

Despite being the only suspect in the Idaho murders investigation, Kohberger has not yet made any significant statements. Kohberger was however represented by Jason LaBar, the top public defender for Monroe County, who reportedly remarked, “Kohberger is excited to be forgiven of these charges and looks forward to settling these matters as swiftly as possible,” when he was detained.

Also, Kohberger’s family is behind him and accepts him. They issued a statement saying that they feel great sympathy for the four families who have lost their cherished children. They pray for the victims every day since there are no words to fully convey the pain they feel for them. As a family, they will continue to love and support their son and brother as they wait for the legal process to conclude.

In an effort to support his presumption of innocence and seek the truth, they continued that the family have completely cooperated with law enforcement agencies rather than pass judgement on unknown facts and form incorrect conclusions. They respect privacy in the case so that all the families who have lost loved ones can proceed with the judicial process.
