Earlier, social media platforms have been buzzing with a viral video of Ankita Pradhan. In her viral video Pradhan has accused Bharatpur police of shocking misconduct, and assault.
Ankita Pradhan, who was recently released on bail by Orissa HC recounted her traumatic experience at the Police station. In her statement, Pradhan alleged that Inspector Dinakrushna Mishra tried to s*xually assault her during her time in custody.

The victim, age 32 Ankita Pradhan whose fiancé captain Gurvansh Singh Gosal is attached to the 22nd Sikh Regiment of the Army, currently posted in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, runs a restaurant in Bhubaneswar and also practices law. Her father is a retired brigadier of the Indian Army.
The army officer alleged that when his fiancée demanded an arrest warrant, she was dragged into a room, stripped, and assaulted by four male and three female officers, including the IC and he further alleged that he could hear her screams for 30 minutes while the IC s*xually harassed and molested her.
The officer also claimed that while he was writing the complaint, four police officers restrained him, dragged him to a cell, removed his pants, and took his belongings, including his wallet, phone, Indian Army ID, and car keys and he was unlawfully detained at 3 am.

What Exactly Happened?
For the context, the tragic and controversial incident reportedly started on September 15, around 1 a.m., after Ankita and her fiancé Major Guruwant Singh were returning home.
On their way, the couple were pursued by a group of men in a vehicle who made threatening remarks. Fearing for their safety, reportedly, the two sought help at the Bharatpur police station.
After reaching the police station, they reportedly found only a female constable on duty, who was dressed in a nightgown. Despite their pleas, the constable refused to register a complaint about the threats from the miscreants.
What Did Ankita Pradhan Say?
In her viral video, Ankita can be heard saying, “I told them they couldn’t refuse to file the complaint since our lives were in danger, and I identified myself as a lawyer.”

However, despite her efforts, the constable refused to listen to her pleas. Shortly after, a police patrol vehicle arrived, bringing additional officers to the scene.
Though, initially police officers allowed Major Guruwant Singh to file a written complaint, however, the situation quickly escalated, without warning, when officers took him into custody.
In addition, Ankita revealed that when she protested “two female officers dragged me by the hair and assaulted me,” while adding that she fought back as hard as she could.
Ankita also recounted that “When one of them tried to strangle me, I bit her to protect myself.”
Moreover, she expressed that how a male and female officer restrained her by tying her hands with her jacket and her legs with a scarf before locking her in a room. Her ordeal only worsened from there.

Furthermore she alleged that “a male officer entered the room,” while adding that he allegedly pulled down her undergarments, and kicked her.
The Inspector-in-charge of the station arrived the following morning.
As per the allegations made by Ankita, the inspector in charge exposed himself and tried to s*xually assault her while she screamed for help.
Meanwhile, the Orrisa HC, while reviewing the case, expressed serious concerns over the police’s actions.
