On social media, images of various politicians with Archana and her missing spouse Jagabandhu Chand have been circulating. Since then, she has become a hot topic of discussion with many people trying to know about her and what she had done. So, let’s find out everything about her:
Who Is Archana Nag?
Archana Nag is an infamous criminal of Odisha. She has been in the news because police recently exposed her honeytrap racket which made various high-profile victims.
Her in-laws are residents of Baunsabani village in the Jaleswar Tehsil of Balasore, whereas she is a native of Kesinga in the Kalahandi district of Odisha. Hher husband’s name is Jagabandhu Chand.
She is currently facing two cases with the Khandagiri and Nayapalli police. Officials noted that any cases that are still pending in other police stations will also be investigated together.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Bhubaneswar, Prateek Singh, today held a press conference and clarified the circumstances surrounding the high-profile crime amid intense confusion regarding the claimed progress of an ongoing investigation relating to the woman blackmailer Archana Nag case.
At a press conference conducted, DCP Singh gave a briefing to the media and mentioned that a girl had earlier filed an FIR with the Khandagiri police on October 2, which resulted in the arrest of female blackmailer Archana.
By becoming friends with the complaint, Archana was able to take a few pictures of the latter in private. The accused lady then began extorting money from her.
In accordance with the FIR, Archana Nag threatened to make the victim girl’s images public if she didn’t approach an Odia film producer as directed.
In this case, the investigating officer (IO) is the IIC of Khandagiri Police Station. The investigation team has been working to determine if anyone else has been involved in the case.
The State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) in Bhubaneswar has already received electronic devices such as mobile phones, tablets, DVS, a bank passbook, and a few other significant papers that were confiscated by the police, according to DCP Singh.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been sought for information on financial transactions made by Archana and the accused woman’s enterprises.
As Archana’s spouse, Jagabandhu Chand, is now unwell, he will be questioned after he has recovered. The investigation team has been working to identify any assets connected to the husband-and-wife combo.
The arrested person will be placed on remand if necessary so they may be questioned further.
