Aparajita, a prominent member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), emerged victorious in the highly competitive 2023 Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections.
In an electrifying contest, Aparajita secured the position of secretary within the central panel, solidifying ABVP’s dominance by winning three out of the four pivotal positions. She defeated her rival from the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Yakshana Sharma, by a commanding margin of 12,937 votes.

Apart from Aparajita, ABVP’s Tushar Dedha and Sachin Baisla also won significant positions in the elections. While Tushar won the presidential post, Sachin won the joint secretary post. Apart from them, NSUI’s Abhi Dahiya also managed to win the vice-presidential post.

Who is Aparajita?
Aparajita is a student leader, associated with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). She has been in the news because she recently won the position of secretary in the 2023 Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections.
She is a native of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. However, she also lived in Lucknow for a short period of time. She is currently living in New Delhi due to her studies.
After completing her schooling, she earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in history from Dyal Singh College. Currently, she is pursuing a postgraduation in Buddhist studies.
She is presently 22 years old.
Her association with ABVP
Aparajita has been associated with ABVP ever since she joined Delhi University. She recently became the secretary in the DUSU elections in 2023.
The lone female panelist emphasized in an interview with The Indian Express that ABVP was committed to delivering on its manifesto commitments, including offering self-defense instruction to women in every college and stepping up security measures like placing cameras inside and outside common areas of colleges. Also, they intend to maintain active Pink Booths and regular PCR patrols.
