Age 31 Anu Sathya, her parents, and Ms. Shylaja went to the bungalow to celebrate her mother’s birthday. Following the celebration, while her parents went to bed, Anu and Ms. Shylaja were at the swimming pool when tragedy struck. Anu’s father, upon finding the situation, quickly sought help from a security guard to rescue the women from the pool. Unfortunately, Anu Sathya had already passed away by that time.

Anu’s family chose Sea Breeze Villa resort in Muttukadu, situated along ECR, as the venue for celebrating her mother Prema’s birthday. A gathering of close friends and relatives joined them for the celebration. After the cake-cutting ceremony, several female guests opted to enjoy the swimming pool, according to police reports. Unfortunately, during this time, Anu Sathya and her companion Sailaja (29) were involved in a drowning incident.
Although the pool staff responded quickly and provided immediate assistance, rescuing both individuals, they were promptly transported to a nearby private hospital in Injambakkam. Despite exhaustive efforts, Anu Sathya passed away upon arrival, while Sailaja received medical attention. Officials from the Kanathur police station arrived promptly at the scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
Reports suggest that little is known about Anu Sathya’s background, though it is thought that she hails from Anna Nagar in Chennai. The police are expected to reveal more information about the circumstances of Anu’s death once they finish their investigation. Currently, Anu’s friend remains in critical condition with no updates on her health.
