Antonio Armstrong Jr. murder case trial
The first trial for the Antonio Armstrong Jr. murder case took place back in 2019, when AJ was just 16 years old. According to the prosecution, Armstrong shot both his parents while covering their faces with a pillow. The prosecution further claimed that Armstrong made attempts to set the house on fire. AJ even researched how to rig a vehicle and make it explode when it turns on. The then 16-year-old allegedly also fired a practise shot into his bedroom floor before commiting the murders. During the trial, Armstrong’s 911 call, where he said “it’s all my fault” was the main focus. Reports suggest that Armstrong had a tense relationship with his parents at the time of the murders.
During the third trial, the family’s home alarm system was the main focus, with representatives of home security companies giving their own testimonies regarding the connection between the murders and the motion sensors activating. According to the testimonies, a motion detector located close to the parents’ bedroom started sounding at 1:09 a.m. Meanwhile, a different sensor went off at 1:25 a.m. close to where officials discovered the murder weapon. Moreover, the alarm got silenced after Armstrong dialed 911 at around 1:56 a.m.
Moreover, the third trial also focused on blood specks that were found on Armstrong’s clothing during his arrest. According to the Harris County district attorney, when officials first detained A.J., the police placed a nametag sticker on his shirt. Officials then discovered two drops of blood from Antonio Armstrong Sr. on the back of the sticker. According to later reports, Armstrong sued the City of Houston after coming to know about the blood specks.
