Investigators have identified a 32-year-old man named Anthony Williams from Peterborough as the main suspect in the Huntingdon train stabbings. The attack took place on November 1, 2025, with the attacker stabbing multiple passengers at random on an LNER service traveling from Doncaster to London. Passengers reportedly raised the alarm around 7:42 p.m., triggering a major emergency response. Following reports of multiple stabbings and an alarm, over 30 officers, including armed police, rushed to Huntingdon station.
The train driver, Andrew Johnson, received praise for his calm and decisive actions after he diverted the train and allowed the police to board safely. Following the shocking incident, officers managed to arrest two men shortly after the train stopped but later released one of them. Witnesses described the scene as horrific, with several victims bleeding heavily and some passengers using clothing to stem wounds.

The Crown Prosecution Service has since charged Anthony Williams with 11 counts of attempted murder, one count of actual bodily harm, and two counts of possessing a bladed article.
