Amit Elor is an American professional wrestler, who was born on January 1, 2004, in Walnut Creek, California. Elor started wrestling when she was four years old and currently competes in the 68 kilograms category. Amit was raised in Walnut Creek, California, and can only speak in Hebrew. She has so far won eight world championships, and she is a cadet, junior, and senior world champion. Elor won the senior world championships consecutively in 2022 and 2023.
She ranks No. 1 in the U.S. for the 68kg weight class.

Amit Elor is currently just 20 years old, and stands at a height of 1.7 m (5 ft 7 in).
Education
Amit Elor attended the local JCC preschool in Contra Costa County. She later attended Diablo Valley College (DVC) a public community college.
Family
Amit Elor was born to Israeli parents, Elana and Yair and she has two siblings, brother Orry and sister Ronny. Both of her siblings are wrestlers and have both secured USA Wrestling Junior National titles. Notably, Elor’s father immigrated from Israel to the United States back in 1980. He chose to immigrate after receiving an athletic scholarship for shot put and discus throw from the Boise State University. Elor is of Jewish heritage and her grandfathers and great-grandmothers were all Holocaust survivors.
Career and achievements
Amit’s mother initially made efforts to pursue swimming, rhythmic gymnastics, as well as cheerleading. However, Elor was inclined towards wrestling and started out competing with only boys until age 10. Elor developed a passion for wrestling after watching her brother Orry training in the Bay Area.
Amit represented the USA in the female INTL Intermediate division at +43 kg, back in 2013. She later won the gold medal in the Cadet (U17) Beach World Championships in Odesa, Ukraine, in 2019. Just two years later, she won gold medals again in the Junior (U20) World Wrestling Championships in Ufa, Russia, as well as the Cadet (U17) World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Later in 2022, Elor won the Senior World Championships and became the youngest World Champion in American wrestling history. The following year, in 2023, Amit Elor went on to retain her world title by winning the same competition again. She is currently set to compete in the finals of the Paris Olympics Women’s Freestyle 68 kg final against Kyrgyzstan’s Meerim Zhumanazarova.
Family tragedy
While Amit Elor attains success in her career, she has face extreme hardship and tragedy. Back in 2018, her 23-year-old brother Oshry was murdered during a robbery at his home. Four years later, in 2022 her father, Yair, unexpectedly passed away during the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite all this, Amit Elor has remained consistent and dedicated to her sport.
