Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s response

Harjinder Singh Dhami, the president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), urged the Himachal Pradesh government to act against “communal” groups for “mistreatment” of Punjabi youngsters on Wednesday.

While denouncing such acts, Dhami stated in a statement that Sikh followers frequently visit gurdwaras across the nation.

“It is unfortunate that in Himachal Pradesh, certain individuals are forcibly removing Nishan Sahib flags as well as images Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and others from the vehicles of Sikh pilgrims. This is creating an atmosphere of fear among Sikh pilgrims,” he said.
