She is currently 19 years old. The Artesia Police Department detained Trevizo on Thursday concerning the January 27 incident at Artesia General Hospital, when the defendant’s infant was discovered unresponsive in a garbage bag inside a bathroom. According to the authorities, an autopsy revealed the infant had died due to a lack of oxygen.

Alexee Trevizo is accused of first-degree murder, “or alternatively,” intentionally abusing a kid and causing death, as well as one count of tampering with evidence, according to the police.

However, during a hearing on Tuesday before Eddy County District Judge David Finger, she was freed on a $100,000 unsecured bail. She will not be required to wear an ankle monitor or be placed under house arrest when she is released. She will be permitted to attend school and graduate. She will also be required to adhere to a 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. curfew.

She was allowed to visit family in Texas without getting permission, but she had to go to counseling. The court must approve all additional out-of-state travel. If any conditions are broken, Alexee Trevizo will be returned to prison prior to the trial.

Once the matter was transferred from Artesia Magistrate Court, she was awaiting an arraignment set for the district court.
