Simar Bhatia will be making her screen debut with Agastya Nanda in the patriotic film “Ikkis” which is based on the story of war hero Arun Khetrapal and is directed by Sriram Raghavan.
The film, which was produced by Dinesh Vijan, examines strong family ties against the backdrop of the Indo-Pak War in 1971. Dinesh Vijan will provide the financial backing for the touching film. Simar Bhatia, the daughter of Akki’s sister Alka Bhatia, and Agastya Nanda will play the key romantic roles as per media reports. Alka got married twice and Simar is her daughter from her first wedding. Alka Bhatia’s second husband is Surendra Hiranandani.
Simar Bhatia is an actor who is trained in acting from the JGS and RSW, Mumbai.
Simar Bhatia chose to embark on her Bollywood career independently without the help of her maternal uncle Akshay Kumar, who could have easily provided her with a significant debut. However, the insiders claim that the young girl has attracted attention from Ikkis based solely on her merits which is unusual in an era when close-knit Bollywood groups often introduce a new star child.
Simar appears to have completed filming the majority of her portion, despite having a very small part in the film.

About Ikkis
For those who don’t know about the plot of Ikkis, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal was a valiant soldier in the Indian Army who was posthumously given the Param Vir Chakra for his actions during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. At the location of his valiant stand, a plaque known as “Arun’s Chowk” remembers his valour. The movie Ikkis is scheduled to premiere on January 10, 2025.
Sriram Raghavan made it clear that Ikkis won’t fictionalize Arun Khetarpal’s life in a recent interview. He emphasized that a naive or too heroic representation reminiscent of children’s comics should be avoided. Rather than the young officer’s early years, the emphasis will be on his sacrifice at the age of 21.
