Three officials, including two hostel attendants, were suspended by the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Bhubaneswar for allegedly mistreating certain Nepali students and evicting them from the campus following protests over the death of a 20-year-old Nepali student who committed suicide due to harassment from her fellow student and ex-boyfriend, Advik Srivastava.
A control room had been established to make it easier for the Nepali students to return, and two security staff were also dismissed, according to KIIT, which apologized for the event that shook the school on Monday.
More than 500 Nepali students on campus protested after Prakriti Lamsal, a third-year computer engineering BTech student, was discovered dead in her dorm room on Sunday night. When college officials tried to physically remove some students off the campus, the situation became more heated and diplomatic action was required.

60-year-old Achyutananda Samanta was born on January 20, 1965 in Kalarabanka, in the Cuttack District of Odisha, to Late Anadi Charan Samanta and Nilima Rani Samanta. Samanta was raised in extreme poverty by his mother, who was widowed, and raised seven kids.
Samanta who had gone to the SCS College in Puri for his graduation, graduated from Utkal University with an M.Sc. in Chemistry. He began his profession at a Bhubaneswar college as a chemistry lecturer.
He also has a Doctorate In Philosophy From Kalinga Institute Of Industrial Technology which he received in 2013. His net worth stands at Rs.20 lakhs with him having assets of Rs.71 lakhs and liabilities of Rs.50 lakhs. As per his election affidavit, he holds no land, house, gold, or vehicle. He is unmarried.
He was a Member of Parliament from the Kandhamal constituency in Odisha and a part of the BJD and is also the founder of founder of KIIT (Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology) & KISS (Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences).
