Who are the daughters of David Gold and who will inherit his net worth after his death

David Gold, who passed away today at age 86 following a brief illness, loved West Ham United alot. Gold’s childhood hangout was not far from his home, know his net worth in 2023

The former co-owner of West Ham was raised in a home at 442 Green Street, across the street from Upton Park, and he was destined to spend the rest of his life as a die-hard Hammers fan.

The Premier League team announced Gold’s passing on Wednesday. He was a talented young footballer who played on the club’s boys team when he was 13 to 16 and then moved up to the youth squad. He was born with a football in his veins. Although he was unable to make it as a professional, he would eventually find his way back to the sport after establishing himself in the business world.

There was a lot of struggle along the way. Gold said that he and his family lived in “abject poverty” as a child. To help his family make ends meet, he went to work when he was 14 years old. In the future, Gold and his brother Ralph would own Gold Group International. Which included lingerie retailers Knickerbox and Ann Summers. The Gold brothers assisted David Sullivan in 1986 in the establishment of the middle-class Sunday Sport newspaper.

Sullivan and David Gold’s collaboration deepened

Both  made their debut in the football world in 1993 when they bought Birmingham City, a team that would eventually rise to the Premier League under their ownership. Karren Brady became the first woman to serve as managing director of a Football League club when she was hired by a Midlands club.

The two of them hit it off and have been together ever since. Birmingham lost Sullivan, Gold, and Brady in 2009, and West Ham gained them in January 2010. Indeed, it was a trying period. West Ham was in deep financial problems when its Icelandic owners abandoned the club. And the team faced the possibility of being demoted from the Premier League. Gold helped “to steady the ship and secure the Club’s future amid a period of considerable financial instability,” as West Ham put it in a statement yesterday.

This was not always a breeze. After being demoted in 2011, West Ham eventually returned to the top flight the following season. A few vocal fans have accused Sullivan and Gold of not putting enough money into the team. In spite of this, Gold’s friends and family have long gushed about how much he loves West Ham United. And how he was a driving force in the 2016 move of the east London team from Upton Park to the London Stadium.

It is expected that Gold’s daughters, Vanessa and Jacqueline, will inherit his 25% ownership in the club. And also maintain a position on the board. Sullivan owns the largest portion in the club at 38.8 percent. After purchasing a 27% share in the company in November 2021, the Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky’s opinion carries more weight.

West Ham further mentioned that Gold’s fiancee Lesley and his two daughters were with him at the time of his death. The net worth of Gold and his family stood at 460 million pound as of 2023.
