In a recent update in Pune Porsche accident case involving 17-year-old Vedant Agarwal, who killed two people by speeding in Kalyani Nagar, the owner and manager of the ‘Blak’ and ‘Cosie’ pubs have been remanded to police custody for four days.

Sessions court Judge SP Ponkshe issued this order. The accused are Naman Prahlad Bhutda, owner of ‘Cosie’; Sachin Ashok Katkar, manager of ‘Cosie’; and Sandeep Ramesh Sangle, owner of ‘Blak’ and they were arrested for supplying alcohol to minors with Cosie sealed as well.
They face charges for supplying alcohol to minors. Nothing else is known about them.
What Exactly Happened?
For the unversed, the incident occurred around 2:30 am on May 19, when a speeding gray Porsche, driven by Vedant Agarwal, collided with a two-wheeler near Landmark Society on Kalyani Nagar – Airport Road.
The victims, IT engineers Anish Awadhiya (24) and Ashwini Costa (24), were killed instantly. Vedant Agarwal was subsequently arrested and later granted bail by the court.
Additionally, the police have filed charges against five individuals, including Vedant Agarwal’s father, Vishal Agarwal.

Public prosecutors Vidya Vibhute and Yogesh Kadam requested police custody for the accused, while Advocate SK Jain represented the defense. While Vishal has been arrested, Vedant’s bail has now been cancelled.
Vishal Agarwal Remanded Along with Pub Owners
The Pune District & Sessions Court ordered Vishal Agarwal, the father of the minor, to remain in police custody until May 24. Pub owner Nitesh Shewani and manager Jayesh Gawkare have also been remanded to custody.
The collision, which occurred near Landmark Society in Kalyani Nagar at around 2:30 am on May 19, was so severe that Costa was thrown 15 feet from the motorcycle.
Vishal Agarwal was charged for his involvement and subsequently detained by Pune police in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Following a court hearing, he was ordered to remain in police custody until May 24.
Vedant Agarwal Spends 48,000 in Cosie Pub?
In a shocking development, CCTV footage has surfaced showing the minor involved in the accident leaving a pub in an intoxicated state. The luxury car he was driving was not registered with the RTO.
Consequently, the state excise department has sealed the pub that served alcohol to the minor. The minor, son of construction professional Vishal Agarwal, had been drinking at a pub for an hour and a half before the accident.
As per investigation, the minor had paid a bill of around 48,000 rupees at a pub called Cosie. He and his friends arrived there at 10:40 pm on Saturday night. After Cosie Pub stopped serving liquor, they moved to Blak Pub at 12:10 am.
Police Intensifies Crackdown
Following the Kalyani Nagar accident, the police have intensified their crackdown on drunk driving across the city.
Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil announced that every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, roadblocks will be set up between 1 am and 3 am in areas with pubs and bars.
