Sadly, 22-year-old Formula 2 driver Anthoine Hubert passed away in Spa during a race in 2019. More recently, 18-year-old Dilano van ‘t Hoff also met with a fatal incident during a FRECA race in July, becoming the 49th person to lose their life on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

Hubert’s close friend Pierre Gasly expressed his sentiments on social media by writing a heartfelt remembrance on Instagram:
“Miss you Tonio. Thanks to everyone who joined today, had a thought or prayers for Tonio & Dilano. Proud of our sport in moments like today. RIP young champs.”
Ahead of the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix, Gasly took the initiative to organize a run in memory of both drivers. He extended a warm invitation to all teams from Formula 1, Formula 2, and Formula 3 to participate in the event.

Anthoine Hubert was a well-known French racing driver. He has been in the news because his close friend Pierre Gasly remembered him ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix.
His full name is Anthoine Gรฉrard Pol Hubert. He was born on 22 September 1996 in Lyon, France.
He passed away on 31 August 2019 in Stavelot, Belgium. At the time of his death, he was just 22 years old.
His career
Anthoine Hubert began karting when he was eight years old and advanced swiftly. In 2013, he won the French F4 Championship, and in 2014, he switched to the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. He competed in both Formula 3 and the Eurocup in 2015.
Hubert started the GP3 Series with ART Grand Prix in 2017 and won the title the following year. With BWT Arden, he advanced to FIA Formula 2 in 2019 and won races in Monaco and France. Hubert was affiliated with the Renault Sport Academy and gained recognition from Formula 1 teams.
