Last year, when Space Jam: A New Legacy hit the screens, at the time, viewers had a lot of issues with the redesigned version of the Looney Tunes character.
At the time, the new feminine features of Lola were deemed too sexualized as fans felt the character was being objectified.
Throughout the movie, Lola’s character was seen in crop tops and short shorts. At the same time, the Lola Bunny Challenge started making rounds on the internet which added further disappointment to users.

As we reports, the disturbing trend came into existence after the artist Chelodoy uploaded an art piece from his fan featuring Lola Bunny to various social media sites.
However, the challenge is once again making rounds on Twitter in 2022 and ever since it resurfaced again, many users started urging them to stay away from it.
Meanwhile, a few users still take the chance to look upon the challenge and they are beyond shocked as they take to the platform to tell their experience.

At the time when the new character’s appearance were became the topic of criticism, the director of Space Jam: A New Legacy, Malcolm D. Lee came forward to explain the aim behind making the character like that.
D. Lee told the outlet, Entertainment Weekly that, “This is 2021. It’s important to reflect the authenticity of strong, capable female characters.
“She probably has the most human characteristics of the Tunes; she doesn’t have a thing like a carrot or a lisp or a stutter.”
He further added, “So we reworked a lot of things, not only her look, like making sure she had an appropriate length on her shorts and was feminine without being objectified, but gave her a real voice.
“For us, it was, let’s ground her athletic prowess, her leadership skills, and make her as full a character as the others.”
Zendaya, who gave voice to Lola in the movie, also said that she realized that Lola is, “special to a lot of people and their childhoods and they’ve been able to grow up with her, so I get that sense of protection.”
