Years after it was first shared on Reddit, The Lamp Story made an appearance on TikTok. On March 31, 2022, TikToker @guacamolephil released a video narrating the story which in only one year had over 100,000 likes and 2.4 million plays.
In 2023, the story experienced a comeback on the platform after TikToker@wafflem28 posted a meme about it on November 12th, 2023. The meme received over 600,000 likes and over 6 million plays in a week.
