Cooper Connolly career
Cooper Connolly was announced as the captain of Australia’s under-19 cricket team for the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in January 2022. The Western Australia under-17 cricket squad was captained by the all-rounder as well.

The Perth Scorchers signed him in August 2022 to play for them in the 2022–2023 Big Bash League season. On January 7, 2023, he played his first Twenty20 match for the Scorchers against the Brisbane Heat in the 2022–2023 Big Bash League. He participated in the final and helped the Scorchers win with 25 runs off of 11 balls.
On September 24, 2023, he played in the 2023–24 Marsh One-Day Cup against Queensland, making his List A debut for Western Australia. On March 21, 2024, he scored 90 runs in the first innings of the 2023–24 Sheffield Shield final against Tasmania, marking his first-class debut for Western Australia.
Connolly was added to Australia’s T20I team on July 15, 2024, for their September 2024 tour of England and Scotland. On September 7, he made his T20I debut against Scotland, and on September 29, he made his ODI debut against England.
Connolly was added to Australia’s Test team for their January 2025 trip of Sri Lanka with Steve Smith playing a major role in his selection.
