Who is Arne Martijn Slot?

Arne aka Arend Martijn Slot began playing football for VV Bergentheim, an amateur team. After that, he relocated to FC Zwolle, where in 1995, at the age of 17, he made his first team debut.

Under Jan Everse’s coaching, Slot had a difficult professional debut due to injuries and limited playing time, but he finally rose to prominence in Zwolle as an attacking midfielder who scored goals. After 13 years, FC Zwolle returned to the Eredivisie in 2002 after winning the Eerste Divisie. In the same year, Slot relocated to NAC Breda.

According to reports in April 2024, Liverpool and Feyenoord had reached a deal for Slot to take over as manager of the team at the end of the current campaign, succeeding outgoing Jurgen Klopp.
