The city police have filed a case against eight students after a video showing students from a reputable institution kissing went popular on social media in Mangaluru, Karnataka. Their alleged participation in the lip-lock competition has given rise to the filing of the case. The lawsuit was filed, according to reports, after it was discovered during investigations that all eight lads had sexually abused the two girls in the group on various occasions and in various locations while using video recordings of the sexual acts.
The students were allegedly charged with offences under Sections 376, 354, 354 (C), and 120 (B) of the IPC as well as various sections of the POCSO and IT Acts, according to police sources. The investigation would be carried out to its logical conclusion, according to city police commissioner N Shashi Kumar. He argued that the college administration should keep an eye on students’ behavior and notify the authorities of any instances of serious indiscretion and wrongdoing.

A 17-year-old youngster who posted the lip-lock video on social media is one of the defendants. The young man is being held while being questioned. According to Shashikumar, neither the parents nor the school administration have made a complaint about the occurrence. The authorities are also investigating whether any pupils used narcotics while the lip-lock competition was going on.
While a young couple is seen kissing in the video, other students are seen in more casual attire, including a girl who is seen lying on her college friend’s lap. According to sources, the students belonged to a reputable college, and the video startled the state’s traditional coastline district and alarmed parents around the state.
A per police administration findings, prior to the lip-lock challenge, the children were participating in a game of truth or dare. In the video, a guy and a girl were seen in the video engaged in a lip lock as their pals encouraged them. The students were wearing their school uniforms so when the school administration learned about the video a week after it was posted, they suspended the students.
