Peter Quill’s possible assault on Earth’s most powerful heroes is the subject of Episode 2. Thor appears in what appears to be an Avengers episode from the 1980s, where he and the Avengers defeat Peter Quill and the Living Planet, the ego of Quill’s father. However, it is a younger Peter Quill who finally joins him and attempts to use their power to conquer the Earth and the cosmos.

What Exactly Happened?
A little recap of the last episode is in order before we jump into the second episode of What If Season 2. One episode explored the possibility of Nebula becoming a member of the Nova Corps. And it’s almost like a parallel universe where the accuser, Ronan, deposes Thanos earlier in the timeline.
To be honest, I have no idea how he manages to pull that off. However, it is for this reason that Nebula wishes to escape Thanos’ clutches. Consequently, the Nova Corps recruits her. And throughout the episode, Yondu’s fin is clearly seen on her. There are plans for that episode to take a darker, noir, Blade Runner criminal thriller approach.
The teaser shows a clip of Gamora from the season one Iron Man episode where Thor Ragnarok’s events were interrupted by Sakar instead of him. This leads him to participate in the tournament of champions. However, their idea of a championship race is more akin to a junker race or a bizarre race.
Iron Man’s passion for racing automobiles is his identity, thus they’re only waiting to construct a fleet of trash cars in the Mad Max manner. Simply put, he constructs the trash buster, which is essentially Iron Man’s Hulkbuster armor, for the junkers. In reality, I believe Marvel has sold toys based on it, or at least they will in the future.
