Max Verstappen talked about his ongoing rivalry with Lewis Hamilton and the relationship between the two
The ongoing edition of Formula 1 has already gone down in the folklore of motorsports. One of the most hotly contested and feisty seasons of F1, the 2021 installment has indulged us in a string of enthralling moments.
Extremely pleasing to the eye has been the battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. The two have been at loggerheads across the course of the season, persistently switching hands to exchange the top spot in the title’s championship.
While Verstappen is currently atop of the points tally after taking home the US Grand Prix, he will be the first to admit that his 12 point lead is far from enough. And adding to the spice of the title battle is the rivalry which has taken birth between the duo.
Max Verstappen Addresses His Rivalry With Lewis Hamilton
The two have locked heads on a string of occasions with it all getting underway with Hamilton had ended Verstappen’s race at Silverstone. The Dutchman had his revenge in Monza as he crashed atop of Hamilton’s Mercedes before showing him the middle finger during free practice in Texas.
Verstappen has now talked about the relationship between him and Hamilton as he sat down for an interview with The Gentleman’s Journal.
“I mean, we’re how competitors should be. We’re not exactly going to have dinner together but that’s fine.
“You have that competitive spirit and we always try to beat each other on track, but also try to respect each other off track as well.
“So far there have been some tense moments, but overall it’s been all right,” Verstappen said.
