Originally scheduled to take place at 4:30am UK time, the bout between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury eventually ended up being delayed to 5am. The promo which featured Big E came hours after the wrestler had made his presence felt during the game between Iowa and Penn State, one which Iowa ended up winning 23-20. Unfortunately, his presence ringside wasn’t enough to swing the contest in Wilder’s favour with him being knocked out by Fury in round 11.
Wilder had previously survived a knockdown in round 3 before Fury stood his ground after two knockdowns in round 4. As the fixture ran its course, Fury’s resilience and expertise saw him dominate the clash with him making his dominance count in round 10 with an ominous punch which knocked down Wilder.
The win saw Fury not only wrap up the trilogy rivalry between the two with a 2-0 win but also saw him retain his WBC heavyweight title. Fury had knocked out Wilder in the second bout between the two as well.
