Following the issue surrounding Trent Alexander-Arnold, a video of Gary Neville refusing to sign the national anthem has surfaced.
Alexander-Arnold did not sing God Save The Queen’ when the national song was played over the tannoy before England’s 1-0 UEFA Nations League defeat to Hungary on Saturday.
The song was being belted out by nearly every player in the starting XI, but the Liverpool defender remained motionless.

As a result, a video of former Manchester United captain Gary Neville refusing to perform the national anthem during Euro ’96 has surfaced.
Neville, who has 85 England caps, did not sing the song as enthusiastically as teammates Gareth Southgate, Tony Adams, and Stuart Pearce did.

The video has garnered over 50,000 views, and Southgate, who is presently the England manager, has received a lot of anger as a result. I can see how Gareth Southgate got the job, and I’m sure he’s giving it his all.
Reason for Liverpool not supporting National Anthem
Liverpool fans caused a sensation last month when they booed the national anthem and the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, before the FA Cup final win against Chelsea.
“The people do not do it for no cause,” Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp responded to the reporters.
The dislike in Merseyside is closely linked to the Conservative government’s handling of the city in the 1980s and the Hillsborough disaster in 1989, which claimed the lives of 97 Liverpool fans.
Wayne Rooney, England’s all-time leading scorer, never sang the national anthem since he didn’t know the words.
In response to criticism that he had not done so, a representative for the FA stated: “It is entirely up to the individual player whether or not to sing the national anthem.”
