Watch: West Ham Fan Loses Finger While Celebrating Goal vs Genk In The Europa League

The West Ham fan was rushed to a hospital in Belgium for emergency treatment after he lost his finger while celebrating in the stands

For one West Ham supporter, making the trip all the way to Belgium turned out to be an excruciatingly painful experience. While the West Ham fan hasn’t been identified with both his name and picture unknown as of now, a horrific video has emerged of him losing a video as he celebrated the visiting side’s goal against Genk.

The incident occurred in the aftermath of Said Benrahma scoring for West Ham in the 82nd minute. The goal saw ecstatic West Ham supporters go up in wild celebrations in the away end with many of them banging on the metal fences to celebrate their side’s goal.

The celebrations soon turned sour though as the fan in question ended up losing his finger with it being seen fallen on the ground. More appalling was the approach of the stewards towards the entire set of events with them seen way too disinterested in helping the fan out despite West Ham fans improving the stewards to ice the finger in a bid to ensure it could be restitched on the fan.

The supporter was subsequently taken to the emergency ward of a hospital in Belgium to receive treatment for his plight.

Genk meanwhile managed to salvage a 2-2 draw on the day after Tomas Soucek headed the ball past his own goalkeeper. However, despite the goal, West Ham were able to seal their berth in the forthcoming round of the Europa League owing to their unbeaten record in the group.
