A section of the Rapid Vienna fans also refused to leave the stadium after their encounter against West Ham with a fight erupting between them and the police
The Rapid Vienna supporters were in a particularly irate and fiesty mood when the rocked up at the London Stadium to watch their team take on West Ham in the Europa League.
Making their presence felt as they turned out in London in large numbers, the Rapid Vienna supporters ensured they made themselves heard with their raucous chants. However, the boisterous section of fans didn’t only throw their weight behind their team with their songs but decided to resort to physical violence as well once West Ham took the lead on the night.

As midfielder Declan Rice gave the hosts the lead in the 28th minute, the visiting fans decided it was time to unleash their fury on the West Ham supporters. A magnitude of Rapid Vienna fans were seen trying to storm into the home end as they jumped barriers to clash with the home supporters with things taking little time in turning ugly on the day.

Stewards and police were required to intervene in a bid to defuse the situation as things were brought under control. However, the Rapid Vienna supporters refused to calm down with a sizeable amount of them refusing to depart the premises long after the tie had ended with them involved in scuffles with the law enforcement authorities at the stadium.
The two sets of supporters were also involved in squabbles all along the course of the matchup with water bottles and coolers being thrown at each other.
