Watch Vinesh Phogat says protesting wrestlers will not play nationals, wants direct entry in Olympics

The real propaganda of the protesting wrestlers in now out with Vinesh Phogat talking about her and the protesting wrestlers aspirations to not play nationals

The Congress party and a “prominent industrialist,” according to the president of the Wrestling Federation of India, were behind the protests by prominent wrestlers.

Brij Bhushan refuses all allegations.

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), who is under criticism, vehemently defended himself on Saturday, denying claims of sexual harassment made by notable wrestlers and asserting that the Congress party and a “prominent industrialist” were responsible for the week-long sit-in protests.

The sixth-term BJP MP from Kaiserganj in the state of Uttar Pradesh spoke to the media while at his home in Bishnoharpur, close to Gonda. “I am 100 per cent innocent, and the Supreme Court and Delhi Police have my whole trust. I am willing to participate in any investigation. It will not be a huge thing for me to step down as the president of the Wrestling Federation of India, but I won’t step down as a felon. Resigning would indicate that I have acknowledged their accusations.”

Given that one of the seven complainants is a minor, the Delhi Police has filed two FIRs, including one under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act. After the wrestlers petitioned the Supreme Court last Sunday and resumed their sit-in at Jantar Mantar, the FIRs were filed on Friday.

The goalposts were moving, according to Singh. “The wrestlers are making new demands every day. They requested an FIR, and one was filed. They are now claiming that I ought to be jailed and removed from all positions. I am an MP not because of Vinesh Phogat, but because of the citizens of my constituency. The only protesters are one family and Akhara. Why don’t people from other places voice their concerns?”

The complaints of the six adult wrestlers were combined into one FIR under Indian Penal Code sections 354 (molestation), 354(A) (sexual harassment), 354(D) (stalking), and 34 (common intention).

According to a police officer, the second FIR was based on the juvenile wrestler’s accusation and included the four IPC sections from the first FIR in addition to Section 10 of the POCSO Act. Section 34 refers to the involvement of more than one individual in the crime, yet the police did not specify whether the complainants have made any other accusations.

The police will probably take down the complainants’ statements starting on Sunday. Singh has not yet received a notice requesting that he appear before the investigative team and take part in the investigation. Some of the seven complainants are participating in the Jantar Mantar sit-in protest, where they met with some politicians on Saturday. According to the first official, each complainant has been assigned at least one police officer.

Brij Bhushan terms the protest political propaganda.

Claims of conspiracy, the president claims to have audio of a male wrestler asking someone to set up a victim. Singh gave the union sports ministry’s oversight committee a copy of that audio recording. He added that he won’t step down until the allegations against him are cleared. Moreover, he attacked Priyanka Gandhi, general secretary of the Congress, for going to the demonstrators on Saturday.

“Today, it was revealed who is responsible for this controversy. I’ve been stating from the start that Congress and an industrialist are involved. They are angry at me. He stated that by requesting an exemption, the protesting wrestlers had attempted to go around the national competition.”
