Verstappen appeared to be travelling at 73 mph on the 55 mph-capable A8, the highway that connects Menton to Provence. Due to the noise level of the vehicle, Verstappen is also seen driving while donning headphones.

Each Aston Martin Valkyrie is equipped with a “helicopter grade noise cancelling headset” since the noise can “damage” eardrums. Verstappen might run into difficulty with the French authorities, claims the magazine Nice Martin.

According to the report, if they decided to act, a unit from the General Directorate of the National Gendarmerie might start reviewing the film. Other issues with the footage include the fact that he stays in the left-hand lane, which is thought to be against the highway rules.

Furthermore, according to reports, he is using a headset with a microphone, which is reportedly prohibited. The F1 star is being criticised by viewers of the popular video on social media for “endangering the lives of others” and that the speed difference “can be all the difference needed to harm people”.

The Valkyrie, according to Aston Martin, is the road-legal vehicle that comes closest to an F1 vehicle. Thanks to its potent 6.5 litre V12 engine, it can travel up to 220 mph. Verstappen has won ten of the first 12 races of the season, and he now sits atop the 2023 Driver Standings with 314 points. When Formula One resumes after the summer break, he will be back in action this weekend at the Dutch GP.
