For Game 3 of the Golden State Warriors’ 2023 NBA Playoffs first-round series against the Sacramento Kings, Draymond Green has been suspended. After stomping on Kings player Domantas Sabonis’ chest in Game 2, Green was dismissed from the game. As the series moves to San Francisco, the Kings lead 2-0, and Green’s suspension makes a crucial Game 3 for the Warriors much more challenging.

With 7 minutes and 3 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Green was whistled for a flagrant-2 penalty and removed from the game. Shams Charania, an NBA insider, tweeted on Tuesday afternoon that it was unlikely Green would face a suspension. The NBA ultimately altered its mind and opted to punish Green because of his alleged history of engaging in dirty play.

How can Golden State Warriors survive against Kings?

Although the 6-foot-6 forward will be available for Game 4 on Sunday and faces suspension for just one match, Sacramento Kings can clinch the series with a win in Game 3. The Golden State Warriors forward missed nine games during the regular season in 2022–2023; during those games, the Warriors went 3-6. This also features a 128-83 loss by 45 points to the New Orleans Pelicans on November 21.

Despite their do-or-die situation, the Golden State Warriors will be optimistic when they host Game 3 on their home court. Throughout the season, Warriors had one of the finest home records in the league with 33 wins and eight defeats, despite having a terrible away record. During the regular season, they hosted the Kings twice and won both contests.
