When it comes to raising money, some choose to hold lavish parties, run arduous marathons, or auction off valuable antiques. One US high school, however, made the decision to do something unusual for their “Wonderful Week of Fundraising” in order to raise money for Not Your Average Joe Coffee.

According to the district, Deer Creek High School held an assembly known as “Clash of Classes” on February 29.  Pupils from different grades reportedly offered their time to take part in “student-organized class competitions” with the intention of collecting money for Not Your Average Joe Coffee. “No Deer Creek employees or faculty took part in any of the games during this assembly’s Clash of Classes.”

Additionally, the district revealed that for the competition, pupils were partnered with equivalent grade levels.

Amount raised in the event

The unusual event successfully raised an impressive $152,830.38 (£120,747.71) for Not Your Average Joe Coffee, a feat the district hailed as a significant achievement. The district commended the students for their dedication and generosity, noting that their efforts would benefit communities beyond Deer Creek.

They also expressed gratitude to the patrons, businesses, and sponsors whose contributions contributed to the success of this year’s Wonderful Week of Fundraising.
