During Sunday’s derby clash at City, spectators noticed a peculiar incident involving Alejandro Garnacho, who seemed to be caught on camera picking his nose and consuming it while on the bench with his video now viral

Despite Marcus Rashford scoring early and putting the visitors in the lead, Manchester United experienced a disappointing outcome as Phil Foden’s two goals and a late strike from Erling Haaland secured a 3-1 victory for City.

United’s lackluster performance, with only three shots and 26% ball possession, left fans frustrated, and Garnacho’s unsavory moment was seen by some as emblematic of their overall display.

The moment the winger, Omari Forson, left the pitch, the camera focused on Garnacho, who sat on the bench seemingly unaware of being on live TV. To the surprise of viewers at home, the Argentine star was spotted picking his nose with a finger and then putting the same digit near his mouth.

Fans Reaction

Reactions poured in from the audience, with one commenting on X, “It’s the peak of Man Utd at the moment,” and another stating, “Highlight of the second half for United.”

Some viewers expressed their astonishment, with one suggesting, “Needed an energy boost,” and another humorously remarking, “Lad needs a good meal.”  Following the team’s defeat, United captain Bruno Fernandes commented, “I think the commitment from the team was there.

“We had our chances. Sometimes we played a little too deep, but you know City does that to all the teams. From a chance that could be ours, it ended up 1-1.”

He continued, “There’s always something more you can do in the game, whether it’s City or someone else. City is a team that knows how to have the ball and pin teams back.

“We knew we had to defend our goal really well, and I think we did. We should have had more spells with the ball than we did in the second half.” Manager Erik ten Hag commented, “I believe it was a commendable overall performance. We took a 1-0 lead and had chances to score a second goal afterward.

“We exhibited strong defensive play, and there were two crucial moments when we came close to both breaking through and conceding the first goal.

“Although it’s disappointing when that happens, we must accept it. Despite the setback, we still had opportunities to secure at least one point, and even a win was within reach.”
