However, Alexander-Arnold sparked controversy before the game by refusing to sing ‘God Save The Queen’ when the anthem was played over the loudspeaker.
Every player was singing along, but Alexander-Arnold remained motionless. Fans slammed him on social media because the game coincided with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
