Tottenham fans persistently broke out into the “Romelu Lukaku, he’s Inter Milan” chant during the Carabao Cup 2021-22 Chelsea vs Tottenham semi-final
As Chelsea got ready to take on Tottenham for the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final at Stamford Bridge, all eyes were on Romelu Lukaku and if he would find a place in the home side’s playing 11 on the night.

Having held talks with Thomas Tuchel and apologised to Chelsea fans for belittling the club and its coach, the Belgian managed to find a spot in the club’s modus operandi. However, he dropped a stinker in Chelsea’s 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge, a horrid display which alluded to how he always underwhelms when Chelsea want him to up the ante in matches of substance.

Tottenham supporters meanwhile ensured they used Lukaku’s presence on the night to mock Chelsea fans. The visiting team’s supporters broke out into chants of “Romelu Lukaku, he’s Inter Milan” across the course of the fixture, a song in reference to Lukaku’s comments of him wanting to return to Inter Milan.
Lukaku had also talked about his desire to join Barcelona, Bayern Munich or Real Madrid or staying at Inter Milan before he came to Chelsea. The song was the only moment of merry for Tottenham supporters though with a depleted Chelsea outfit wiping the floor with them on the night as they were schooled in a 2-0 defeat.
